We were thrilled to welcome Dough Tallamy to OUTSIDE Collab 2021 as our keynote speaker.

Doug is the T. A. Baker Professor of Agriculture in the Department of Entomology and Wildlife Ecology at the University of Delaware, where he has authored 104 research publications and has taught insect-related courses for over 40 years. Chief among his research goals is to better understand the many ways insects interact with plants and how such interactions determine the diversity of animal communities. Doug has authored numerous books including the New York Times Best Seller, Nature’s Best Hope.

During his keynote speech Doug shares how only 5% of the lower 48 US states are in anything close to an ecological natural state like they were many years ago. There are global insect declines, billions of birds lost, one million species face extinction within the next 20 years. This isn’t just impacting animals and insects but this will directly impact humans. So what can we do to help save our insects, birds, and nature itself? It will take small efforts from a lot of people and in his Keynote, Doug goes over his plan of the Homegrown National Park.
